Disaster resilience is the ability of countries, communities, and households to manage change by maintaining or transforming living standards in the face of shocks or stress- such as earthquakes, drought or violent conflict without compromising their long term prospects. It is determined by the degree to which individual, communities and public and private organizations are capable of organizing themselves to learn fro past disasters and reduce their risks to future ones, at international, regional, national and local levels. Resilience is the ability to return form, position, etc.
We may not be always prepared but we have plans that can help us. Resilience is important for a number of reasons; it enables us to develop mechanisms for protection against experiences which could be overwhelming, it helps us to maintain balance in our lives during difficult or stressful periods of time, and can also protect us from the development of some mental health difficulties and issues. It has also lessons that will be learning from this like it can increased involvement in community or family activities. It only shows how we care each other and most of all you can show how prepared you are. And it can be good model to everyone.
